I named the spread SOUL IN THE HOLE in honor of musician and quintuple Virgo Nick Cave, who once claimed:
“I am not interested in anything that doesn't have a genuine heart to it. You've got to have soul in the hole. If that isn't there, I don't see the point.”
Nick also famously wrote:
“I feel duty-bound to unearth, enhance and promote the world’s beautiful things rather than obsess, worry and agitate over the worst of things. I believe in creation over destruction, compassion over cynicism, mercy over vitriol, friendship over hostility, truth over lies and love over hate.”

I drew cards three times yesterday (Sunday August 4th, 2024’s luckiest day), while all around me Hurricane Debbie whipped the palm trees to a green froth, my dogs howled at the heat lightning, and the cat Chili Palmer gave zero shits: once for the collective, once for my friend Gray, and once for myself.

The Tarot rarely wants to talk about Gray’s love life. Nonetheless, Gray interprets that this six-card spread is encouraging him to find friends and lovers in new ways and new places, to reorganize his social life as small groups vs. one-on-ones, to create opportunities for unexpected connections and chance encounters via his new life as a downtown professional. And I don’t disagree! Gray has been pouring all of his attention his professional life for the last five years, and it is BLOSSOMING, but he hasn’t been putting energy into his personal life, and it is WILTING. It’s time to reprioritize and shift leadership from the boardroom to the bedroom!
